About me
With over 20 years in middle school education, I've worn a lot of hats — ELA and social studies teacher, instructional technology facilitator, and now media coordinator. I believe strongly in inquiry-based and self-directed learning, and that getting students hands-on with their learning makes all the difference. At the core of everything I do is the idea that compassion makes a difference for how kids connect to libraries as well as schools. This means meeting kids with kindness first and building the kind of trust that makes real learning possible. My favorite part of this work is finding that unique spark of curiosity in each student and helping build it into something bigger. When I'm not in school, you'll find me buried in a good book, experimenting with the latest technology, or off on an adventure.
Please be aware I am just beginning my professional Instragram (Gerbs_Gotcha) presence as I move from X over to another media, so the content posted is very limited at this time.
